How I Got Started Buying Scrap Gold
People always ask me how I got started in this business – Since it is such a popular question I thought I could blog about it on our website! Two years ago I married into a jewelry-dealing family and when making the move into my husband’s house – I found my old scrap gold. Oh you know, the standard rope chains, tri-colored clown charm (why? When I have a small fear of clowns did I have a clown charm!?) A lovely braided gold bracelet that I had a small obsession with back in the day, etc…Most of which I was never going to wear again. After speaking with my brother-in-law about what to do with my old gold – He showed me the equipment, how to test items and gave several tips on how to tell what is gold and what isn’t. He then offered me several hundred dollars for my old gold items that had been cluttering my drawer all those years. This is when the light bulb went off! How fun and easy it would be to do this for my family and friends. I started with a Gold Party at my mom’s house and quickly thereafter every party I went to I booked another and another and another! The guests 
were just so thrilled to be getting money and not having to spend it! The hors dourves and wine didn’t hurt either. People loved catching up with their friends, having some wine and leaving with money! It ended up being a low cost business startup and has turned into an amazing home employment opportunity for many across the country!
